December Decluttering Challenge

This month's Decluttering Challenge is Sentimental Items & Digital Media!

The New Year is coming and with that often comes resolutions after reflecting upon the last year’s successes, failures, and fond memories. As you look forward to growing and evolving in the new year, I find December the ideal time to work on items that bring up sentimental feelings and to declutter your digital media to make room for what comes next. It can feel scary to make sentimental decisions and declutter media, but what better time than when you’re surrounded by family, friends, and the people you love who can support you. It’s also an ideal time to “regift” sentimental items that can be better used and loved by someone who really needs or wants them.

Much like creating boundaries for decor, I find it helpful to define spaces for sentimental items. Whether it be a shelf, a drawer, or even a beautiful photo box - think of where and how you can begin to honor the items you cherish the most. It’s also important to think of functionality - those dusty China dishes that you’re keeping from your grandmother with either get used for the holidays or remain on the shelf. Could that space be used for something more meaningful that you currently need and use? What if you used that China set everyday?

December is also an ideal time for creating photo books of the memories in your phone storage or camera from the last year so you can make room for new ones. Look for holiday promo codes and give yourself or loved ones the gifts of a Photobook or Photo Album.
